This case involves multiple nationwide lawsuits covering five subclasses of Novartis sales representatives. Now a federal district court has given preliminary approval for a $99 million settlement for the sales representatives. This possible settlement for a class action overtime lawsuit against Novartis could possibly benefit over seven thousand current and former sales employees and representatives for both sides.
This possible settlement would include a Fair Labor Standards Act subclass of employees working as Novartis sales representatives for at least one day from January 25, 2009 to January 25, 2012 in some states and also a catch all subclass of sales representatives that worked in specific states for different periods of time beginning in 2005 and who are not part of the previously mentioned subclasses.
The court will approve a notice which will be sent to former and current Novartis sales representatives who are possible class members involved in the settlement and hold a fairness hearing on May 31st.
