Tennessee School Injury Case Goes to Court of Appeals

Last year our firm tried a tragic case where our young client sustained life changing injuries after being in an altercation at school. We believe that evidenced showed a pattern of our client, a disabled child, being denied protections that he needed to be safe. The trial court agreed with us and the maximum amount allowed by law was awarded. This was an important day for our clients as they felt that they had been heard and that the failure we believed was in the system would not happen to someone else.

Unfortunately, as often happens in these cases the school system appealed alleging they were not at fault as they felt the attack was unforeseeable and they had put in place adequate protections. This week we held our arguments in front of the court of appeals. Another step forward to finally resolving this case for our clients. Jon Street presented the argument for our firm and we feel he did a great job against a smart and prepared opposing lawyer.
