Wellbutrin is a prescription drug medication that is used to treat depression. It appears that when this drug is taken during pregnancy it can increase the likelihood of several congenital defects. Specifically, it is believed that the drug can cause malformation of the child’s heart. The specific heart defect is known as hypoplastic left heart syndrome.
